Training program "Improving credit skills for corporate customers" for officers and employees of the Agribank system

TRAINING PROGRAM "IMPROVING CREDIT SERVICES FOR LEGAL ENTITY CUSTOMERS" FOR OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF AGRIBANK SYSTEM

The banking sector is one of the extremely important sectors for the economy, especially in Vietnam where the investment capital for socio-economic development still mainly relies on credit capital from commercial banks. In addition, banking activities always have high potential risks. Therefore, fully understanding and effectively applying legal regulations on credit risk management in general, and credit risk management of corporate customers in particular, is not only a legal task, but also comes from the practical requirements of Vietnamese commercial banks. To meet that requirement, along with promoting development to expand the scale of operations by diversifying and improving the quality of products and services, Vietnamese commercial banks also need to constantly improve their risk management capacity by diversifying risk management tools, especially modern risk management tools, in accordance with international practices and standards.

To achieve the above requirements, improving the credit services for corporate customers for officers and employees is one of the solutions to help the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (Agribank) realize the Business Strategy Project until 2025, with a vision to 2030 and soon complete all three pillars of the Basel II Capital Adequacy Agreement, which is an important premise for Agribank to continue implementing the contents according to the standards of the Basel III Capital Adequacy Agreement.

Continuing the success of the training cooperation between the two units in the past time, in 2023, Agribank continues to coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City Banking University (HUB) to implement the training program. “Improving credit services for corporate customers” for nearly 700 students who are Heads and Deputy Heads of Corporate Customer Departments; Corporate Customer Credit Officers and officers working in credit-related activities at the Head Office, Representative Offices, and Branches of Agribank nationwide. The course is organized into 07 classes taking place from August to the end of October 2023 at Agribank's training facilities in Yen Bai, Bao Loc - Lam Dong, Nam Dinh, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Long Hai - BRVT, Sam Son - Thanh Hoa provinces.

With the goal of sharing knowledge, accompanying Agribank in training to possess a team of high-quality human resources, knowledgeable in expertise, flexible with change, contributing to improving the competitiveness and continuous development of Agribank in the coming time. In addition to building a training program to meet Agribank's requirements with the following contents: (1) Loan appraisal and management; (2) Real estate appraisal; (3) Assessment, ranking, identification and management of credit risks for corporate customers; (4) Import-export financing and bank guarantees, HUB also provides a team of lecturers who are Associate Professors, PhDs with experience and in-depth knowledge of the field of finance - banking to ensure the most effective transmission and sharing of content to students participating in the course.

After attending the course, students will be equipped and updated with in-depth specialized knowledge to better understand the credit process of corporate customers, effectively apply modern methods and tools in rating, identifying and managing credit risks for corporate customers in accordance with international practices, standards and current legal regulations. The course took place in 02 classes in Yen Bai (August 21 - August 26, 2023) and Bao Loc - Lam Dong (September 11 - September 15, 2023) and achieved many unexpected successes. Let's continue to wait for the results of the next 05 classes in the 2023 training series. HUB and Agribank hope to continue to achieve more success in the training programs. Through that, the two sides will continue to cooperate, build and share training programs to develop together strongly in the future.
