HUB WITH TRAINING PROGRAM "IN-DEPTH CREDIT RISK MANAGEMENT" FOR AGRIBANK LEADERS AND EMPLOYEES
The trend of globalization and economic integration is an inevitable trend of the world. This trend has, is and will create more and more development opportunities for all sectors of the economy, including the business activities of Vietnamese commercial banks. Besides the opportunities that globalization brings, commercial banks also face many challenges and obstacles. In addition to facing fierce competition from competitors such as fintech companies, strong changes in customer needs, the rapid development of the 4.0 technology revolution along with increasingly strict regulations, practices and international standards have also created countless difficulties for banks in their business activities, especially modern banking business activities. Faced with these opportunities and challenges, diversifying risk management tools, especially modern risk management tools in accordance with international practices and standards, is considered an optimal solution to help commercial banks improve their risk management capacity, ensuring safety and sustainable development. And this is considered an urgent and vital requirement for commercial banks.
In order to gradually realize the risk management strategy, develop human resources and thereby improve internal risk management capacity, human resource training to meet practical requirements has always been focused on investment by the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (Agribank) and is considered an urgent requirement, one of the optimal solutions on the development path. Therefore, in 2023, Agribank will continue to coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City Banking University (HUB) to jointly train with the School of Business and Administration - Hanoi National University (HSB) to organize the training program “In-depth credit risk management” for more than 1,000 leaders and employees working in risk management at Agribank's Head Offices and branches nationwide.
The training program is organized with 11 classes, taking place from August to the end of October 2023 at Agribank's training facilities in the provinces of Yen Bai, Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Lam Dong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau. The training content is developed by HUB and HSB with the following topics: (1) Methods of building, implementing and allocating credit risk limits and concentrated risks for credit granting activities. (2) Methods of identifying and measuring credit risk losses, (3) Measures to prevent and limit credit risks. In addition to developing training content suitable to practical requirements, HUB and HSB have paid special attention to providing a team of lecturers directly involved in teaching with high academic titles and degrees, expertise and practical experience, flexible teaching methods combining theory and handling specific situations to achieve the objectives of the course set by Agribank.
After completing the course, learners will be equipped with and updated with more basic knowledge to understand and perceive more fully the importance and significance of risk management; especially, they will have more methods, tools, techniques and skills to effectively use the modern credit risk management system in accordance with international practices and standards. Mastering credit risk management is an important factor to protect assets and ensure the stability of the bank in an increasingly complex business environment, while contributing to the continuous development of Agribank in the future.
