TRAINING PROGRAM "SKILLS TO IDENTIFY REAL AND COUNTERFEIT MONEY AND DISCUSS ERRORS AND FRAUD IN CASH TRANSACTIONS" FOR ACCOUNTANTS AND FUND STAFF AT AGRIBANK KIEN GIANG
On September 28 and 29, 2024, at the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam - Kien Giang Province Branch (Agribank Kien Giang), a training program took place. “Skills to identify real and counterfeit money and discuss errors and fraud in cash transactions” for more than 100 students who are accountants and treasury officers of Agribank Kien Giang. This is a training program jointly organized by Ho Chi Minh City Banking University (HUB) and Agribank Kien Giang to help students grasp the techniques of identifying real and counterfeit money for the following currencies: VND, USD, EUR, AUD and JPY. In addition, the program also helps students understand the regulations of the State Bank of Vietnam in detecting and handling counterfeit money and suspected counterfeit money in cash transactions.
Under the guidance of experts from HUB, students were exposed to in-depth analysis methods and advanced technology in distinguishing between real and counterfeit money and common fraud methods in cash transactions. These techniques include checking the security features on the surface of banknotes, using ultraviolet lights and other supporting devices to quickly identify suspicious signs, thereby raising vigilance and early detection of violations.

Overview of the training course
The program also focuses specifically on the procedures and measures to be taken when detecting counterfeit or suspected counterfeit money, in accordance with the regulations of the State Bank of Vietnam. Real-life hypothetical situations were presented and analyzed in detail, helping students better understand the situations they may encounter during their work. Experiences and lessons from specific cases were also shared to enhance skills in handling situations in real work situations.

Students discuss techniques to distinguish between fake and real money
The training course not only provides knowledge but also creates opportunities for accountants and treasury officers of Agribank Kien Giang to discuss and exchange experiences on common errors in cash transactions. Through group discussions, trainees actively shared their practical experiences and the difficulties they encountered when detecting counterfeit money. This helps trainees improve their skills in detecting and preventing errors, thereby minimizing risks for the bank.

At the end of the training course, the majority of trainees expressed their satisfaction with the practicality of the teaching content, believing that this was useful knowledge that could be applied immediately to daily work. This will help improve the effectiveness of controlling and preventing risks related to cash transactions, contributing to protecting the interests of Agribank in general and Agribank Kien Giang in particular in the current period. This is a further affirmation of the close cooperation between HUB and the Agribank system in training coordination, contributing to the sustainable development and prosperity of Agribank in particular and the economy in general.
